Orthodontics

Orthodontic problems require specialized care. Patients who have dental and facial irregularities should see an orthodontist. Our specific qualifications in the design, application and control of braces, retainers, and removable appliances will bring teeth, lips, and jaws into proper alignment for optimal facial balance

Orthodontic Treatment

At O'Connor Dentistry, we work hand in hand with patients to understand their goals and provide individualized orthodontic treatment plans to achieve optimal results utilizing the latest braces and wires to reduce treatment time. This includes early preventive care for young children and the latest in cutting edge orthodontic technology.  We offer multiple orthodontic treatment options and braces for children, teens and adults. Orthodontic treatment options include traditional metal and clear braces.  Getting braces is an important commitment, and Dr. Kahn and her Orthodontic team are here to help every step of the way to ensure your orthodontic treatment experience is a pleasant one.

Early treatment allows the orthodontist to monitor the growth of the jaw and recommend further orthodontic treatment if necessary. Some patients may need early treatment and others may wait for all of their adult teeth until they start treatment.  Early treatment is beneficial because:

  • Avoids the need for future oral surgery

  • Avoids the need for permanent (adult) teeth to be extracted

  • Corrects thumb sucking or other oral habits and helps improve minor speech problems

  • Regulate the width of the upper and lower jaws

  • Corrects and guides the growth of the child’s upper and lower jaw to help the permanent (adult) teeth to come in the proper place

The amount of time you wear braces depends on the amount of treatment needed to correct the problem. Some patients may only need slight adjustments and may be in treatment for 12 months while others may need more treatment and may take 24 months. Treatment time also depends on each individual. Some patients may respond quickly to treatment and will be in braces less time. Remember, we want a perfect smile and will help determine what is best to obtain it!

Free Consultations

We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. Our staff, along with Dr. Khan are trained and skilled in providing quality orthodontic treatment.  As an experienced dental team at issues pertaining to the jaw, we can move and adjust teeth even if they are fully formed and hardened. This makes it possible to straighten teeth in adults, rather than children only.
